Farmers Direct Coffee’s Post

Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU) is a small, democratic, farmer-owned cooperative union operating in Ethiopia’s Oromia Regional State, which accounts for over 65% of the country’s coffee-growing land. OCFCU adheres to the principles of the International Cooperative Alliance and fair trade.

Their mission is to enhance the socio-economic well-being of member farmers by providing training, advisory services, and market information. OCFCU collects high-quality, organic Arabica coffee from its member primary cooperatives for direct export. They also offer warehouse services, improved technology, and wholesale inputs to boost production, add value to members’ products, and engage in various other activities outlined in their by-laws.
